Books to sell & donations

We are always looking to buy good quality books, particularly literary fiction, children’s and illustrated books, poetry, art and crafts, history, philosophy, local history (Devon and Cornwall), natural history. We are also interested in purchasing antiquarian books, first editions, folio society editions and fine bindings.

If it’s just a few books you wish to sell, please bring them into the shop for valuation. For larger quantities or more specialist collections please call 07562 391801 or email us as castle.books@hotmail.com to arrange a visit.

Please be aware that as a relatively small shop with limited shelf and storage space, we cannot guarantee to take everything you offer us and will have to be selective in our choice.

To save a wasted journey or call, we rarely accept books in poor condition, academic/textbooks, book club or Reader’s Digest books, encyclopaedias and outdated reference works, or modern hardback fiction (unless they are first editions).

Donations gratefully received

We are also delighted to accept donations (see conditions above). If you have more than two bags/boxes to donate, please notify us first by emailing us at castle.books@hotmail.com to arrange delivery or pick up, otherwise feel free to drop them in. Please note that, while we try to accommodate as many donations as possible on our shelves, lack of space means that we may need to pass excess books onto local charity shops.
